Roofer & Roofing Company in Greenville, NC

Carolina Trophy Roofs replaces and repairs roofs across Greenville and Pitt County from our office at 1414 Forbes St. The roofs on this page are five of our recent jobs in Greenville and Winterville, photographed by our own crews from the first inspection to the finished ridge.

Hail is the storm damage homeowners here miss most. From the yard a hail-hit roof looks fine; on the roof the shingle mat is bruised and its granules are sitting in the gutters. Pitt County's storm record, further down this page, lists every hail and wind report since 2016, and a free storm inspection settles it for your roof either way.

    Roof replacement

Full re-roofs in architectural shingles, like the five jobs above: the old roof documented first, the new one photographed as it goes on, down to the ridge vent and the chimney flashing.

    Roof repair and leaks

Leaks, missing or creased shingles, failed pipe boots and flashing. For a leak that is active right now, call the 24/7 line and we tarp first, then repair once the roof is safe to walk.

    Hail and storm damage

Pitt County's record holds both hail and thunderstorm wind. A free storm inspection checks every slope — for bruised mat and granule loss after hail, for creased and lifted shingles after wind — and photographs what it finds.

    Insurance claim documentation

Hail claims turn on documentation. We document the roof, meet your adjuster on it, and handle the claim paperwork through to the depreciation release.

    2016–2026

Of the 102 roof-relevant storm events NOAA logged in Pitt County between 2016 and 2026, 30 were hail. 28 of those dropped stones an inch across or larger, which is roughly the size at which hail stops bouncing off an asphalt roof and starts bruising it. The largest on record fell on May 15, 2025: Baseball, measured at 2.50 in. A further 2 hail events came in under an inch.

Hail damage is the kind you cannot see from the driveway. A stone that size fractures the asphalt mat beneath the surface and knocks the protective granules loose; the shingle keeps its shape and keeps shedding water for a while afterwards, so a hail-struck roof usually looks fine from the ground and fails early instead. The things a homeowner can actually check are granule piles at the bottom of the downspout, and dents in the soft metal on the roof — vent caps, valley flashing, gutter aprons. Those dents matter because soft metal takes an impression at about the same stone size that damages a shingle, so they are the closest thing to a physical record of what hit the house.

    Storm damage · Greenville, NC

    Storm damage in Greenville

Greenville's county record is a hail record. Most of Pitt County's hail reports are for stones of an inch or larger, and the county's largest stone, measured in 2025, was baseball-sized. Hail damage is the storm damage that homeowners most often miss: from the ground the roof looks fine, while on the roof the shingle mat is bruised and the granules that protect it from sunlight are sitting in the gutters. Our Greenville office on Forbes Street is the base for storm inspections across Pitt County.

The public record backs that up. Between 2016 and 2026, the NOAA NCEI Storm Events Database logged 102 roof-relevant storm events in Pitt County: 30 hail, 71 thunderstorm-wind and 1 tornado report. The largest hail in the file measured 2.50 in. (Baseball) on May 15, 2025. The strongest measured gust was 72 knots on Jun 22, 2016, in the unit the source records. One entry in the county file reads: “May 15, 2025 -- Hail (Baseball hail, 2.50 in)”.

    Insurance claims in Greenville

Hail claims in Greenville turn on documentation, because the damage is small, repeated and easy to argue about. The North Carolina Department of Insurance says every homeowners policy in the state requires you to give prompt notice of a loss, make reasonable emergency repairs and keep the receipts, and that the insurer should acknowledge receipt of your claim within 30 days. Carolina Trophy Roofs documents the damage, meets the adjuster on your roof in Greenville, and handles the claim paperwork from the first photo to the final invoice. Read the step-by-step North Carolina roof insurance claims guide for deductibles, depreciation, deadlines and what to do if a claim is denied.

    Questions Greenville homeowners ask us

    Where is your Greenville office?
At 1414 Forbes St in Greenville; the office line is (252) 371-2266. Our main office is at 136 S. Business Ct in Rocky Mount, and the main number, (252) 302-2003, reaches both offices.
When will I get my depreciation check?
If your policy pays replacement cost, the insurer usually pays the actual cash value first and holds back the rest — the NC Department of Insurance calls it recoverable depreciation — until the work is done. Once the roof is replaced and the final invoice goes to the insurer, the held-back amount is released. We handle that paperwork through to the release.
How does my deductible work on a roof claim?
The deductible comes off the top of the insurer's estimate. Some North Carolina policies carry a percentage deductible for wind, hail or named storms instead of a flat amount, so read the declarations page first: the deductible and its trigger are printed there.
Can you give my insurance company an inspection report?
Yes. A free storm inspection documents every slope with photographs, and we meet your adjuster on the roof so both of you are looking at the same shingles.
My roof leaks when it rains. What should I do?
Call (252) 302-2003 — the line is answered 24/7. For an active leak we tarp the roof first, then inspect it fully and repair it once it is safe to walk.
    Do you offer financing?
Yes, through our financing partner's own application portal with dealer number 391677. Approval is the lender's decision, not ours.

For deductibles, depreciation and deadlines in more detail, see the North Carolina roof insurance claims guide.
