Roof Repair in Rocky Mount, Greenville & Eastern NC
When a roof leaks or loses shingles, the job is to stop the water now and fix the cause properly once the roof is safe to walk. Carolina Trophy Roofs repairs roofs across Eastern North Carolina from offices in Rocky Mount and Greenville, and (252) 302-2003 is answered around the clock for active leaks.
Not every problem needs a new roof. A lifted flashing, a cracked pipe boot or a dozen wind-creased tabs are repairs, and we will tell you so. When the damage runs across the roof, or a storm did it and your insurance should be paying, we tell you that too.
If your roof is leaking right now
Keep people safe
Move what you can away from the drip and catch the water. If a ceiling is sagging with water, keep everyone out from under it. Do not climb onto a wet roof.
Photograph everything
The ceiling, the wet floor, anything damaged, and the roof from the ground. Note the date and time of the storm if there was one.
Call (252) 302-2003
The line is answered 24/7. For an active leak we tarp the roof first, then inspect it fully and repair it once it is safe to walk.
Keep the receipt
If a storm caused it, the NC Department of Insurance says your policy requires reasonable emergency repairs to prevent further damage. Keep the receipt and the before-and-after photos for your claim.
What we repair
Most leaks are not in the middle of a slope. They start where the roof is interrupted — at pipes, vents, chimneys, walls, skylights and valleys — or where wind has lifted shingles.
Roof leaks
Water travels along the deck before it drips, so the stain on the ceiling is rarely under the hole. We trace it back to the source and fix that.
Roof leak repairMissing and creased shingles
Wind lifts tabs, breaks the seal strip and creases the mat. Damaged shingles are replaced and the slope is checked for others that will go next.
Missing shingles repairPipe boots and vent collars
The rubber collars around plumbing vents crack and split in Eastern NC sun, and the sealant around them dries out. They are among the most common leaks we find.
Flashing
Metal flashing where the roof meets a chimney, wall, dormer or skylight pulls loose or rusts through. It is refastened or replaced and properly lapped under the shingles.
Valleys, ridges and ridge vents
Valleys carry the most water on the roof; ridge caps and ridge vents take the most wind. Both are repaired with matching material.
Storm damage
Hail bruising and wind damage across several slopes is usually an insurance claim. We document it for your adjuster.
Storm damage roof repairRotten decking
Where a leak has been running for a while, the sheathing under the shingles goes soft. Bad sections are cut out and replaced.
Metal and commercial roofs
Backed-out fasteners and failed seams on metal roofs, and flat and low-slope roofs on commercial buildings.

How a roof repair works with us
Call or book
Call (252) 302-2003 or book online. Tell us what you are seeing and where, and whether water is coming in right now.
Inspection and diagnosis
An inspector gets on the roof and into the attic where it can be reached. Moisture meters and thermal imaging help trace water that has travelled. The inspection is free.
Temporary protection
If water is still getting in, the roof is tarped to stop it while the permanent repair is arranged.
The scope, before the work
You are told what is wrong, what the repair is and what it costs before anything is done — or, if the roof is past repairing or the damage is a storm claim, why.
Permanent repair
The repair is made with manufacturer-grade materials and matching shingles where they are still made, and photographed before and after.
Paperwork
You get the photos and the repair documentation, and the repair is covered by our workmanship warranty.
A note on matching shingles
A repair on a roof that has been in the sun for ten years will rarely match perfectly. Colours weather, and manufacturers retire lines and colours. We match as closely as current products allow. On a storm claim where the damaged shingles cannot be matched, that becomes a question for your adjuster; our insurance claims guide covers how to raise it.

Should you repair or replace your roof?
Repair when the damage is limited to one area and the rest of the roof is sound: shingles that lie flat, seal and bend without cracking. Replace when the problems are spread across the roof, the shingles are brittle, or the same leak keeps coming back.
Paying for repairs every year on a roof at the end of its life is the most expensive way to own it; the roofing costs FAQ covers that decision with the money attached. When that is where you are, see roof replacement.
What roof repair costs
We do not publish repair prices, because a repair price off the internet is a guess about a roof nobody has looked at. What sets the price:
- What failed. A pipe boot or a few tabs is a small job; step flashing along a wall or a valley is more.
- Pitch and height. Steep and two-story roofs need more safety setup and more time.
- What is underneath. Rotten decking under a long-running leak has to be cut out and replaced.
- Matching material. Some shingle lines and colours are harder to match than others.
You get the price for your roof after the free inspection, before any work is done. If a covered storm caused the damage, the repair may be paid through your insurance claim, less your deductible.
Roof repairs and insurance
Homeowners insurance pays for sudden damage from a covered peril, commonly wind and hail, not for wear or a pipe boot that dried out with age. If a storm caused the damage, give your insurer prompt notice and get the roof inspected before the adjuster visits. We photograph the damage, meet the adjuster on the roof and handle the claim paperwork. If the inspection shows the damage is wear rather than a storm, we say so; a claim built on wear is a claim that gets denied.

Roof repair questions
- How much does it cost to repair a roof?
- It depends on what failed, how steep and high the roof is, and whether the decking underneath is damaged, so we do not quote repairs sight unseen. The inspection is free, and you get the price before any work is done.
- Should I repair or replace my roof?
- Repair when the damage is limited to one area and the shingles around it are still flexible and sealed. Replace when damage is spread across the roof, the shingles crack when lifted, or leaks keep coming back. Paying for repairs every year on a roof at the end of its life costs more than replacing it.
- Do you do emergency roof repair?
- Yes. (252) 302-2003 is answered 24/7 for active leaks. We tarp the roof to stop the water first, then inspect it fully and make the permanent repair once it is safe to walk.
- Will my insurance pay for a roof repair?
- If the damage came from a covered peril such as wind or hail, the covered repair is paid under your policy, less your deductible. Wear, age and deferred maintenance are commonly excluded. We document the damage and meet your adjuster; the coverage decision is the insurer’s.
- Why is the stain on my ceiling nowhere near the damage on the roof?
- Water runs down the underlayment, along rafters and across the top of the ceiling before it drips, so the stain is often several feet from where the water gets in. That is why a repair starts in the attic and on the roof, not at the stain.
- Can you just replace the shingles that blew off?
- Usually, yes, if the rest of the roof is sound. We replace the missing and creased shingles, re-seal lifted ones and check the slope for tabs that are about to go. On an older, brittle roof, lifting the surrounding tabs to make the repair can break them, and then replacement is the better answer.
- Do you repair metal roofs?
- Yes: backed-out and loose fasteners, failed seams and sealant, and rusted panels. Where a whole metal roof is ageing, a roof coating can be an alternative to replacement.
