    Roof Replacement in Greenville, NC

We replaced the four roofs on this page in Greenville and Winterville between March and May 2026, and all four were insurance claims. Each was inspected and documented first, then re-roofed in architectural shingles.

A new roof is a bigger decision than a repair, so this page covers how the job runs, what you choose, how a claim pays for it and what it costs. For a price range on your own house in about a minute, use the instant estimate.

When a Greenville roof needs replacing

Replace when the problems are spread across the roof rather than in one spot: shingles that crack when lifted or no longer lie flat, storm damage on several slopes, or the same leak coming back after repairs. Paying for a repair every year on a roof at the end of its life is the most expensive way to own it.

Hail is the damage that gets missed here. From the yard a hail-hit roof can look fine, while on the roof the shingle mat is bruised and the granules are collecting in the gutters. A free inspection settles it.

    How a replacement runs

    1. Inspection and documentation

Every slope walked and photographed. On a claim, the photos go to your insurer and we meet the adjuster on the roof.

    2. Scope and your choices

You get the scope in writing and choose the shingle line and color. This year’s Greenville and Winterville roofs went on in gray and charcoal architectural shingles and in IKO Dynasty, a brown blend.

    3. Materials delivered

The shingles arrive on pallets before the crew does; the Winterville card below shows an IKO Dynasty delivery.

    4. Tear-off and deck check

The old roof comes off and the deck is checked. Soft or rotten sheathing is replaced before anything new goes on.

    5. New roof, flashing and vents

Underlayment, shingles, flashing at chimneys and walls, and ventilation. On the May 2026 Winterville roof a ridge vent went along the main peak before the cap shingles covered it.

    6. Photos and paperwork

You get photos of the finished roof. On a claim, the final invoice goes to your insurer so the held-back depreciation can be released. More in how a roof replacement goes.

A two-story brick colonial in charcoal

The claim inspection was in August 2025 and the roof was replaced in March 2026. Charcoal architectural shingles now cover the main hip roof and both gabled wings, a pairing that suits red brick; our shingle colors guide has more.

    IKO Dynasty, delivered and installed

Inspected at the end of February and re-roofed in early March 2026. The IKO Dynasty shingles in a brown blend came to the driveway on pallets, then went on around the dormer and the roof vents.

Charcoal shingles over a new ridge vent

Inspected in September 2025 and re-roofed in late May 2026 in charcoal architectural shingles. A ridge vent runs the length of the main peak under the cap shingles, so hot attic air has a way out at the top. See the roof ventilation guide for why that matters.

    What a roof replacement costs

The range we publish for a typical Eastern NC home is $8,000 to $25,000: architectural shingle roofs average $10,000 to $15,000 for a standard home, and metal roofs run $15,000 to $25,000. Roof size, pitch, how many layers come off, decking repairs and the shingle line move a house within that range. The roofing costs FAQ goes further.

On a claim for covered storm damage, the insurer’s estimate pays for the covered work and your deductible is your share. On a replacement-cost policy the insurer usually pays the actual cash value first and releases the rest, which the NC Department of Insurance calls recoverable depreciation, once the roof is finished. Not a claim? Financing runs through our partner’s portal, dealer number 391677, and the lender decides on approval.

    Warranty

Every replacement carries our 5-year standard workmanship warranty, and with our transferable warranty package it can pass to the next owner if you sell. Upgraded and extended warranties are sold separately, and the shingle manufacturer’s warranty is a separate document; see manufacturer warranties.

    Roof replacement questions from Greenville

How much does a roof replacement cost in Greenville?
The range we publish for a typical Eastern NC home is $8,000 to $25,000, with architectural shingle roofs averaging $10,000 to $15,000. Your price comes in writing after the free inspection, before any work. For a first range from your address, use the instant estimate.
Will my homeowners insurance pay for a new roof?
If covered storm damage is why the roof needs replacing, the insurer pays for the covered work, less your deductible. Wear and age are commonly excluded. We document the roof and meet your adjuster; the coverage decision is the insurer’s.
When do I get the rest of the insurance money?
On a replacement-cost policy, the held-back amount (recoverable depreciation) is released after the work is done and the final invoice goes to the insurer. We handle that paperwork.
    Which shingles do you install?
We are certified installers with GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Atlas and IKO. This year’s Greenville and Winterville roofs went on in gray and charcoal architectural shingles and in IKO Dynasty, a brown blend.
    Do you offer financing?
Yes, through our financing partner’s own application portal, dealer number 391677. Approval is the lender’s decision.
