Roof Repair in Rocky Mount, NC

Most Rocky Mount calls to our office start with a leak or a storm: water at a chimney, a pipe boot that has split, shingles lifted after a blow. We are at 136 S. Business Ct, and (252) 302-2003 is answered 24/7 for active leaks.

Not every problem needs a new roof, and we will tell you when it does not. When it does, the photos show you why.

Repairs we make most in Rocky Mount

    Leaks

Water runs along the deck before it drips, so we trace it back from the attic and the roof, not from the stain.

    Roof leak repair

    Missing and lifted shingles

Wind breaks the seal and creases the tab. Damaged shingles are replaced, and the slope is checked for the next ones to go.

    Pipe boots and vents

Split rubber collars and dried-out sealant around plumbing vents and box vents, among the most common leaks we find.

    Chimney and wall flashing

Loose or rusted flashing is refastened or replaced and lapped correctly under the shingles.

    Hail and storm damage

Every slope checked; dents in vents, gutters and metal chalked and photographed for your adjuster.

    Metal roofs

Loose screws, failed seams and hail dents on metal roofs and metal sections.

Chimney flashing, pipe vents and a box vent

On this Rocky Mount roof the new black metal flashing steps up the side of the chimney into the brick and laps over the shingles (the photo at the top of this page). On the main slope, two pipe vents and a box vent are set into the new shingles. Chimneys and pipe penetrations are where most leaks start.

A new boot on the plumbing vent

Re-roofed by mid-September 2025, with a new rubber boot on the plumbing vent beside the roof vent. A cracked pipe boot lets water run straight down the pipe into the attic, and in Eastern NC sun the rubber does not last forever.

Photographed during a June 2025 storm inspection: the old ridge vent, weathered along its length. The ridge takes the most wind on a roof, and a tired ridge vent lets wind-driven rain in at the peak.

When a repair was not the answer

In June 2026 the old roof on this Cape Cod was dark and streaked across the front slopes. It was stripped to the deck and re-roofed in late August 2026, over all three dormers. When wear runs across the whole roof, a new roof is a better use of the money than another repair; see roof replacement.

If it is leaking right now

Call (252) 302-2003. The line is answered 24/7, and we give a 24-hour response for most emergencies. We tarp the roof to stop the water first and make the permanent repair once the roof is safe to walk. Keep your photos and receipts: the NC Department of Insurance says your policy requires reasonable emergency repairs to prevent further damage.

    What a repair costs

You get the price after the free inspection, before any work is done. What moves it: what failed, how steep and high the roof is, whether the decking under a long-running leak has to be replaced, and how hard your shingle is to match. If a covered storm caused the damage, the repair may go through your insurance claim, less your deductible.

Roof repair questions from Rocky Mount

Do you do small roof repairs in Rocky Mount?
Yes. A pipe boot, a few missing shingles or a loose piece of flashing is a repair, and we treat it as one.
How fast can you get here for a leak?
Same-day booking is available and we give a 24-hour response for most emergencies. For an active leak, call (252) 302-2003 at any hour.
    Can you match my shingles?
As closely as current products allow. Shingles weather and manufacturers retire colors, so a repair on an older roof rarely matches perfectly. On a storm claim where the damaged shingles cannot be matched, that becomes a question for your adjuster.
    Will insurance cover the repair?
If wind, hail or another covered peril caused it, the covered repair is paid under your policy, less your deductible. Wear and age are commonly excluded. We document the damage and meet the adjuster; the insurer decides coverage.
Do you cover Nashville and the rest of Nash County?
Yes, from the same office: Nashville, Battleboro, Sharpsburg, Red Oak, Dortches, Whitakers, Spring Hope and the rest of Nash and Edgecombe counties.
